I wanted to give my son a head start in math by teaching him mathematical concepts at an early stage. I started looking for children's storybooks that taught higher level mathematical concepts visually. An easy to follow storybook format and colorful illustrations were important to keep my child's attention. I also wanted a book where there was teamwork and friendship. When I couldn't find such a product on the market, I designed "The Mathlin Kids" series. Once I started writing, I realized that I'm writing a book that makes a difference. I became inspired to publish my book so I can spread my work to other kids. Mathematics is a powerful subject. Falling proficiency in mathematics is a rising concern across our country. By engaging our children, and interacting with them through storybooks, we can help shape and improve their thinking and logic. I'm hoping to make a difference by making math learning a fun experience. I hope you enjoy using the series as much as I enjoyed creating them.
